Description

The Clark family has been farming in Howard County since 1797. James Clark Jr. began farming Elioak Farm in 1946, after his return from WWII. Over the years the farm has had a dairy herd, Angus beef cattle, sheep, hay and grain crops and started the roadside vegetable stand that still operates today. In 2002 we open Clark's Elioak Petting farm and began inviting the public to the farm to visit with farm animals, take pony and hay rides, and learn about farm life. It has been a great experience and really connected us with our community. Starting in the Spring of 2010 we began marketing our own 100% Grass Fed beef.
For years we have also has a roadside vegetable stand! We are open July 1st through Labor Day We grow and sell many varieties of tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, eggplant, zucchini, summer and patty pan squash. We also sell sweet corn, cantaloupe, watermelon, and peaches. Most of what we sell we grow, when we bring in other fruits and vegetables they are from local farms (primarily other Howard County farms). We are not certified organic, yet we do not use pesticides or other chemicals. We farm sustainably and work the land in order to improve the soil for the future.
Our family has had the opportunity and privilege to farm in Howard County for over two hundred years. And in light of the fact that the memorial stone in our front yard, placed by James Clark Jr, gives us the "etched in stone" instruction---Never Sell The Land----we hope to continue to farm here for years to come.
Over the years we have expanded the offerings from our farm by raising and selling homegrown 100% grassfed beef, pasured/non-GMO pork, in addition to our all-natural vegetables. However in the Spring of 2021 we have decided to take an extended break from raising and selling our 100% Grassfed Beef and Pork.
We are still raising delicious, homegrown vegetables though! In addition to fresh herbs and summer flowers. Our produce can be found Spring & Fall at Clark's Elioak Farm's Castle Store (and entrance building). During July & August our Roadside Produce Stand (along Route 108) will be filled with all our wonderful summer vegetables and cut your own flower garden!
Thank you for supporting our farm and our family! We look forward to farming in Howard County for many, many years to come!
